The most heat-resistant mica sheets we provide. Because they can be molded without breaking, they are frequently utilized to create gaskets for automotive exhaust manifolds, as well as gas and oil burners, and heat exchangers. A silicone resin binder allows these sheets enough flexibility to be shipped in rolls, enabling you to use a machine to punch out parts with reduced waste.
These sheets will not melt like plastic or shatter like ceramic, making them suitable for insulating electrical components that are subjected to high heat and vibration. They can endure temperatures of up to 2000° F for a short duration, but if subjected to conditions above 1800° F for an extended period, they may convert to carbon and cease to insulate. They are also referred to as phlogopite mica.
